Surgical instruments
Contents
01Manual cleaning
- Disassemble all disassemblable surgical instruments before starting cleaning.
- Prepare and use an enzyme solution of neutral pH.
- Fully immerse the surgical instruments in the enzyme solution for 20 minutes.
- Scrub with a soft brush until all visible impurities are removed. Pay attention to crevices, holes, assembly surfaces and difficult-to-clean areas; use a long, thin brush for holes. Replace enzyme solution if judged contaminated, such as when red or cloudy with blood.
- Remove the instrument from the enzyme solution and rinse with purified water for at least 3 minutes, focusing on through-holes, holes and difficult-to-access areas.
- Prepare a neutral-pH cleaning solution and pour it into the ultrasonic cleaner.
- Fully immerse the instrument in the cleaning solution and ultrasonically clean for 10 minutes.
- Rinse with purified water for at least 3 minutes or until no blood or impurities are visible.
- Replace the cleaning solution and repeat steps 5-6.
- Dry the instrument with a clean, disposable absorbent towel.
- Finish cleaning if the instrument is visually clean. Otherwise, repeat the cleaning procedure until no visible contamination remains.
02Automatic cleaning · Cautions
An automatic cleaning system alone is not recommended for complex surgical instruments. First perform the manual cleaning above. Automatic cleaning may follow manual cleaning but is not required.
Do not use sodium hydroxide. Avoid corrosive products or tools, including abrasive sponges and metal brushes.
03Sterilization
Sterilize before use. Moist-heat sterilization must conform to ISO 17665-1,2 as cited in the source. For autoclaving at 121°C, the sterilization time is 15-20 minutes.
04Operation
The manual reusable medical handpiece is assembled with instruments for puncturing, drilling and cutting human tissue.
Select the plate and screw appropriate for the surgical site.
Select the drill shaft, tap and screwdriver suitable for the selected screw.
Attach A1-A20 to the manual handpiece for use.
Use A1-A9 to drill the bone; select thickness and length to match the screw. A1 and A2 are for micro screws, with depths of 4 and 6 mm; A3-A8 are for mini screws, with depths of 5, 7, 9, 14, 16 and 18 mm.
Use A10-A18 to tap the drilled bone hole, selecting the instrument to fit the hole. A10 and A11 are for micro screws; A12-A17 are for mini screws.
Fit the selected screw onto the A19 or A20 screwdriver shaft and screw it into the bone to fix it.
B01 is the handle to which the A1-A20 shafts attach.
Use C1-C2 to bend the plate selected for the surgical site so that it fits closely against the bone.
05After-use care
Immediately after use, clean and sterilize according to the preparation procedures above.
Store in a dry, cool place and protect from impact.
